LIMA, March 1 (Reuters) - Peru consumer prices fell 0.07 percent in February compared with January as the economy gets hit by fallout from the world economic slowdown, the National Statistic Institute said on Sunday.

The South American country had not had a consumer price fall since November 2006, when prices slumped 0.28 percent, according to the central bank.
Analysts in a recent Reuters poll forecast February inflation at 0.16 percent.
